Jackie Slanley

Jackie Slanley is a first-generation, multiracial, queer Vietnamese American artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work envisions an alternative biome that exists in parallel to ours, realized through laser-cut plexiglass sculptures. Each sculpture is a document of worlds that hover between the natural and the imagined inspired by personal storytelling. Previously an artist-in-residence at Ox-Bow School of Art and a sculpture fellow at the Vermont Studio Center, Slanley has shown work nationally and internationally in NYC, Los Angeles, Kansas City, Washington, D.C., and Austria. She holds a BFA in Painting and Visual Art from Hunter College and an MFA in Sculpture from Pratt Institute. She works and teaches at Parsons School of Design.
